Welcome

Attorney Cedric Severino offers free consultations for Criminal Defendants, and Employees or Ex-Employees victimized by their employers, and plaintiffs who have been injured by someone.  He can be reached at his office number (818) 649-0228, or via email at LAtrialattorney@Gmail.com or via fax at (323) 908-7354.

Cedric realizes that many of his clients are likely busy during the day with work, child care, and other tasks.  He accommodates these clients by leaving himself available via his cell phone until 9:00 p.m.  (Also reached via his s work number).  Cedric is also always available 24/7 to his clients in case of any emergency situation.

Cedric specializes in the field of Criminal Defense, practicing primarily in Los Angeles County and Orange County, and in Federal Court as well.

Although Cedric has only been in practice for around 3 and 1/2 years, he has already handled serious felony matters that many attorneys at a firm or a public defender's office would not be doing for another five or ten years.  He achieved a hung jury on an attempted murder case, which all most certainly would have been a not guilty verdict if it weren't for prosecutor and judicial error that resulted in the mistrial.

He also defended a client charged with first degree kidnapping, breaking and entering, and felony spousal assault, in which his client was being told by his Public Defender to take an 8 year plea bargain.  Cedric was able to get the entire case dismissed at a probable cause hearing 10 days later, and his client was free from custody at the courthouse that day.

Cedric does not shy away from difficult cases and is able to provide an aggressive defense while avoiding alienating the jury through overly hostile conduct.  He has yet to leave a client unhappy with his representation, as they have all appreciated his drive and dedication to their cases.

Cedric also takes time to get to know his client, as this familiarity helps ensure that Cedric can represent how good of a person the client is.  This distinguishes him from most attorneys who normally treat their clients just as jobs and normally are uninterested or unwilling to take additional time to talk to them.

Cedric's fees are open to discussion and negotiable, but in general he requires at least a $1,000 retainer for a misdemeanor and a $2,000 retainer for a felony.  He typically charges at least $3,000 to defend misdemeanors and at least $5,000 to defend felonies.  But, since every case is unique, these figures are by no means set in stone.  Cedric is also open to payment plans if his clients are unable  to pay the entire fee upfront.

For civil litigation, Cedric is willing to work on a contingency basis of 30 percent so long as he receives a $2,000 total fee to retain him for his services.  $1,500 is used as a retainer, the remaining $500 for court costs.

Still, since Cedric prioritizes a great defense or great advocacy for all his clients over his pocketbook, he is willing to arrange payment plans with clients who cannot afford to pay all the money for his flat fees or hourly defenses for a defense up front.  These arrangements still require signed agreements requiring the client to make monthly payments at a minimum of $500 a month until the fee is fulfilled.

Cedric is located in the heart of Silverlake, and enjoys taking potential clients out to coffee at one of the nearby cafes.

A message from one very satisfied client:

Cedric has a certain drive and determination like no other. He is always looking for alternatives that would benefit his client’s interests at best. The most important part is his generous and understanding personality. He was more than willing to work with us financially and we are very grateful for that. In the end our case was finally dismissed! He was a pleasure to work with and I definitely would recommend him for representation. Thank you Cedric for everything!

Client was facing an 8 year plea bargain, and Mr. Severino was able to get his case dismissed at the preliminary stage, a mere 10 days after he came in as counsel.
